Levels of Support banner

Fully Supported
Where a system and/or application is fully supported, the VU ITS service desk, in the event of technical failure (by VU or vendor), will be backed up for data retention and have training support available.

Training Support
These applications are not supported by the VU ITS Service Desk from a technical perspective, however, are supported by the Learning Environments Team with regard to training in the use of the tools and the applications that they are appropriate for.

Not Supported
eLearning applications and systems that are not supported by VU should be used with caution.  VU is not able to provide staff or student training and support in the use of the system.  VU will not provide technical support in the event of system malfunction.  VU will not backup or retain any data entered by either staff or students.  VU cannot ensure privacy or security of student data.

Note: Staff should where possible use supported systems and applications, especially where student data is involved or could be at risk. This includes personal data and assessment information. Where data is not to be stored on VU systems, due diligence is required to ascertain the privacy and security of data.

Where there is a demonstrated need to use a non-supported eLearning tool, staff are encouraged to discuss this with the Learning Environments Team to determine whether a university-wide solution can be achieved.
